We really enjoyed reading this book this week, here is a little taster from the first few pages. In the small town of Hamilton Shady there is a rather large problem. Mrs MacCready won't stop eating and is soon towering above the town. There can only be one outcome.... Mrs MacCready was ever so greedy. She did nothing else but eat. Fish fingers and chips, apples with pips, plates full of succulent meat. Bacon and ham, gobbled with jam, brown eggs, scrambled or fried. All sorts of berries, especially cherries, even with worms inside! We have been learning about healthy and unhealthy foods this week. We decided to make some healthy soup to sell in our cafè. We learned a little song to help us remember how to make it. It was lots of fun to make and our classroom smelled lovely all day long! We all loved the taste of our soup, it was yummy :) Well done to Lilly and her family for raising so much money for Cystic Fibrosis! A great cause, and Lilly got to have her picture taken for the newspaper. Today was a very exciting day in our classroom. We learned how to make a smoothie, so that we will be able to work in our new 'Smoothie Bar' . First we chose our favourite fruit and vegetables. Then we chopped them carefully with a knife. We then put them into a blender. When we turned it on it made lots of noise! We blended the fruit for twenty seconds. Lastly we poured the smoothie into a glass. Then the whole class had the chance to taste it. Some people really liked it, others not so much, but it was lots of fun to make. We can't wait to serve lots of customers healthy smoothies in our role play corner ! What a fun filled day ! We had so much fun at our Halloween Party this year. Lots of spooky wooky costumes, laughter and excitement in our classroom all day long. Our classroom has transformed into a very busy place during structured play. There are lots of wizards and witches creating lots of spooky spells and potions! We have been learning about the different types of animals that like to hibernate for the winter. We had so much fun snuggling up In our bears cave, we even built some caves for our teddy bears in our construction area. Junior infants were very busy this month learning their first group of letters and sounds. We had a great time revising them all through our phonics carousel 😀 |
